Product description

The MLX80142 drive up to two RGB LED (six channels) with MeLiBu® protocol, ideal for highly dynamic automotive LED light modules. It's suitable for Software Defined Vehicles (SDV), supports PCB-less technologies, and is optimized for space-critical applications. As a responder node in a single commander, multiple responder system, it controls the information transmitted from the Light-ECU. Each responder and connected LED can be individually controlled. This ready-to-use device requires no firmware development.

End-of-Line (EOL) optical calibration data for each LED is stored in the commander ECU. The MeLiBu® protocol facilitates the transfer of current and PWM information, as well as monitor and diagnostic data. Auto-Addressing is supported as well, and configuration data (current settings, PWM values, baud rate, etc.) can be sent during start-up or via dedicated MeLiBu® messages.

The MLX80142 offers 6-channel LED driver with diagnostics, 16-bit PWM per output (up to 1000Hz), and configurable constant current sources up to 60mA. It also includes a 12-bit ADC for high-precision measurements, multiple GPIO features, and supports independent LED supply from 12 V down to 3V.

Designed for automotive applications, it meets automotive Grade 0 qualifications and supports functional safety with its ASIL B compliancy. The device comes in a 16-pin QFN (3 mm x 4 mm) package with fused GND pins, optimized for single-layer substrates.
